How the calculation works

Numerology reduces your birth day, month, and year each to a single digit — with one exception. If a part lands on 11, 22, or 33, it stays as it is: these are the master numbers, and collapsing them would erase what makes them distinct.

The three reduced values are then added together, and the total is reduced the same way. Take December 29, 1997: the day 29 becomes 2 + 9 = 11, a master number that stays put. December is 12, which becomes 3. The year 1997 sums to 26, then to 8. Adding 11 + 3 + 8 gives 22 — another master number, so that's the final answer: life path 22, the Master Builder.

Most people land on 1 through 9. A small minority carry 11, 22, or 33, which numerologists read as higher-voltage versions of 2, 4, and 6.
